Hello, good morning / afternoon / evening . . . and welcome to our website all about Satellite TV.

Satellite TV has been around for a while now, remember the early 1990′s when giant dishes sprouted in backyards across the neighborhood . . . they were expensive, they were huge (some of them must have surely blocked out the sunlight) but to some of the most die-hard TV fans they were the future and they were prepared to make sacrifices to follow their passion . . .  It was much harder to get satellite TV than say cable or broadcast but to some people that was all part of the challenge.

Of course, these days satellite dishes are much smaller (just like lots of other gadgets which seem to shrink with age!) and neat little compact dishes now perch on rooftops instead of taking over 75% of the yard space.  You can see them everywhere, especially in those remote and hard to reach places where cable just isn’t a viable option.  These satellite TV companies know just what to do to lure us in with promises of news events from around the world, big sporting occasions and the latest movies . . . add that to the quality of the pictures and the sound and there’s no wonder that the vast majority of us are just too weak to resist.

It’s still possible to seek out your own satellite, but these days (anything for an easy life) the majority of us leave it to the direct broadcasting providers like DISH Network and DirecTV.  They’ve done all of the hard work so we don’t have to!  All you have to do is to choose a package depending on your interests.  Sports . . . movies . . . kids channels . . . documentaries . . . it’s all there for a price.  You see, these satellite TV providers have a cunning plan to bring a choice of hundreds of TV channels direct to your TV and take your business away from cable TV – the competition.
